RMS Titanic, when built, was the largest cruise line in the world, unmatched in opulence and luxury. The furnishing was very stylish, and the dining room walls were fitted with extensive oak wood panelling. The ship was constructed in the Harland & Wolff shipyard in Belfast, and after a much-publicised launch, underwent sea trials as it steamed down to Southampton on the south coast of England. On the 10 April 1912, carrying a total of 2223 passengers and crew, the ship set sail on its maiden trip to New York. Four days into its voyage, steaming through a dark and cold Atlantic night, the Titanic hit an iceberg and sank two hours and forty minutes later, with the loss of 1517 lives.

How could such a terrible tragedy become the subject of everyday humour? Possibly to blame are the owner's of the ship, the White Star Line. To quote their widely-read publicity brochure produced in 1910 for the sister ships Titanic and Olympic, 'these two wonderful vessels are designed to be unsinkable'. Even during that fateful night in 1912, when the New York office of White Start Line was told that the Titanic was in difficulties, White Star's Vice President, Philip Franklin said 'We place absolute confidence in the Titanic. We believe the boat is unsinkable'.

So this hotch-potch of tragedy, misfortune, and irony give us an excuse to laugh away the capricious and fateful nature of our existence.

3) Tremolo: Done somewhat differently from the conventional classical guitar tremolo, it is very commonly played with the right hand pattern p-i-a-m-i.

Peters and his management team never endorsed the DVD.

Martin and Lewis were an American comedy duo, comprising singer Dean Martin (as the "straight man") and comedian Jerry Lewis (as his stooge). The pair first met in 1944, and worked together in nightclubs, on radio and television, and in films.

The act was simple: the low-key Martin would try to sing or speak to the audience, and the manic Jerry would distract him and loudly interrupt him in a high, adenoidal voice. The uninhibited Jerry would ad-lib freely and run around the stage, and the quick-witted Dean would keep up with him, building the comedy (and the audience excitement) to fever pitch. It was an irresistible combination, and the team triumphed in hugely successful movies, live TV shows, and personal appearances.

After five years at Paramount Pictures, Dean Martin was tiring of scripts limiting him to colorless romantic leads while the stories centered on the antics of Jerry Lewis. Martin also noticed that Lewis was being more ambitious, playing comedy scenes for pathos and staging more of the action himself. The last straw came when Look Magazine gave Martin and Lewis a cover photo -- and cropped Martin out of the picture. Martin dutifully fulfilled the rest of his movie contract, and left the act at his first opportunity, in 1956. The Paramount movie series continued successfully with Lewis as a solo performer; Lewis also realized his ambition to direct.

Apart from a surprise appearance by Martin on one of Lewis's annual telethons for muscular dystrophy 20 years later in 1976 (orchestrated by mutual friend Frank Sinatra), they never performed together again, although they reconciled privately in the later years of Martin's life.

Another source claims that contrary to belief, the 1976 MDA telethon was not the first reconciliation of the legendary comedy team. In 1960, four years after they split, Martin & Lewis briefly reunited. Both were performing their own separate acts at the Sands hotel in Las Vegas, a club they frequently played while they were together. Lewis caught Martin's closing act and Martin introduced his former partner to the audience, bringing him on stage. For about fifteen minutes, they joked a bit and sang a duet of "Come Back to Me". Unfortunately, the reunion was only a one time thing. Later when Lewis was too exhausted to perform his act, Martin generously replaced him.

Chris Bliss is an American stand up comedian and juggler. He majored in comparative literature at Northwestern University and the University of Oregon before dropping out to pursue a career in juggling.

Bliss decided not to pursue the conventional route of circus style juggling. Instead he chose to blend popular music with tightly choreographed fast paced moves. Where other jugglers seek to juggle more and more objects, Bliss chose to juggle only three balls. It is this combination of a simple juggling style and his choice of popular music that made Bliss a big hit, culminating in him being chosen as the sole opening act for Michael Jackson on his 1984 Victory tour.

Following on from this big success, Bliss expanded his brief juggling act to include stand up comedy. His act now comprises both stand-up elements and juggling.

In 2006 Bliss enjoyed widespread fame when an online video of his juggling finale became a viral internet sensation. The five minute video shows his energetic finale where he juggles 3 balls to Golden Slumbers/Carry That Weight/The End by the Beatles. The video was widely circulated via email and blogs with an estimated 20 million viewings within 40 days.
